Choosing a private-label shampoo: cleansing, feel and residue
A shampoo brief must describe the scalp cleansing target and the feel of the hair afterwards. More foam or a stronger cooling sensation is not automatically better performance.
Choose the right product formats
Start with the smooth shampoo and light conditioner. The volume and scalp-fresh shampoos are alternatives for different briefs, rather than a three-shampoo daily regimen.
Understand the ingredients
Ask the lab to explain the surfactant blend and deposition system. Ingredient categories matter, but a single surfactant name does not describe how the final formula behaves.

Plan your private-label range
Begin with a clear customer need and choose formats with distinct roles. Compare application preferences, packaging and the place of each product in the routine. Your destination market and sales channel should guide the final assortment.
